Taking the Leap

is a professional practices school for visual artists. Located near San Francisco, California, our classes are offered only once a year, starting in November, although we accept applications year round. Early application is encouraged as we ususally have a waiting list.
Our mission is to help artists create and maintain flourishing careers. We believe that artists should make the art first, then find the market for it, not the other way around. We further believe that authentic art will find its audience, and we see our job as streamlining that process.

Taking the Leap: Building a Career As a Visual
Artist,
by Cay Lang, is available in bookstores
across the country, or directly from Chronicle
Books at 1-800-722-6657. It can also be found
on-line at www.amazon.com

Alexei Antonov presents his collection of
paintings and drawings.

Having studied art in Russia, Azerbaijan, and Italy, Alexei has been living in the US for 11 years.
His main goal in life is to promote the Ecology of Culture, more specifically, in visual art.

Action for the Ecology of Culture is a 1art.com and ArtPapa.com campaign for the revival of the forgotten knowledge and skills, for bringing back the preeminence of craftsmanship unduly neglected in the art of painting, thereby attracting the public's attention to the current imbalance
in our cultural life.

This website is very educational and you can see a demonstration, instruction "Step by Step" , of the 7 layer technique of the Flemish and Dutch Masters.
